Alacena Feminista Mayagüez is a community non-profit organization that, according to its motto, “Take what you need, leave what you can,” is based on solidarity exchange. AFM are committed to solidarity and mutual support. This initiative aims to disassociate ourselves from the policies and dynamics of the State, which criminalizes poverty, and also fails on numerous occasions in access to food and necessities.

Likewise, the 'Alacena' of Mayagüez seeks to denounce and make visible gender violence and all its possible manifestations. At the Alacena Feminista Mayagüez the organization advocate for a transfeminist, anti-racist, decolonial and anti-capitalist Puerto Rico. In imagine a space of hope, of politicizing and problematizing the experiences of historically marginalized people. Team Mayagüez Media goals were to create a website and solve key issues for Alacena Feminista Mayagüez.
